Mid-August Update!

What i've been up to

This is just a quick update! Usually, the newsletter goes out last week/first week of the month but July and August were a bit chaotic for me. You will get a full, typical newsletter with really cool updates and info - including some writing workshops that you can sign up for. But until then ... I got married and went off to the PNW and honestly, it was fun and I want to share it with you.

Wedding and Honeymoon, oh my!

Handfasting!

Our partner helped to lead a beautiful handfasting celebration at the Legendarium Bookstore.

Flower Crowns!

Who needs a bouquet when one of your besties owns a floral shop and is happy to create flower crowns!

Cake!

The cake was designed by a friend of ours and if you've never had blue velvet with buttercream frosting, you are missing out.

A Picnic in July

Look, sometimes you are silly and have an outdoor reception at a park in July ... in Utah. But things were not has hot as they could have been and so many people came we will never be able to process it. We love our family, friends, and community so much.

After the wedding, we headed up to the PNW for some needed adventures that included seeing family and friends we hadn't seen in far too long, touring KEXP, wandering around libraries, finding gardens and so many amazing local places to eat, and two WNBA games. 15/10, no notes, would definitely do again.

So, enjoy this photobomb. And there's a full update coming in a couple of weeks.

Let's Scribble All Over the 4th! I’m sitting in the cafe at Under the Umbrella on the 4th of July. Today is my usual day to hang out - I do a drop in TTRPG game on the first Saturday of the month from 11:30-3:00 and then I’ve got my writers group meetup from 3:00-5:00. Because it’s the 4th, I didn’t expect a lot of people to show for the game, but I’m still sitting here with the Daggerheart materials and my dice and kind of sad I don’t get to make characters that can fight the machine. Yeah,...

Hello Scribblers! As I write this, Pride events for June are starting to ramp up and I want to remind you to take some time to really celebrate what is out there. I’ve got some history below for you to read through and a quick excerpt from Dancing in the Ghost Light, featuring the cast of Cat’s Eye at Pride. Quick real talk: May kinda sucked and my being sick for a bunch of it is why this is late. Instead of rehashing all of it, I'm going to spend our precious internet time this month talking...

April Chaos Brings May Excitement Hello Scribblers! May Day crept up on me - despite my paying careful attention to its approach. Suddenly, it was May 1st and I found myself unprepared for the May Day actions of the weekend. It's Beltane and International Workers Day and both matter a lot to me - so do me a favor and take some time to read up on these days! This update is a bit chaotic this time around. Have fun! ;) April for me was all about Moon Joy. The collective dopamine given to us by...
